Our Investment Philosophy

Collide Capital invests in great companies built at the intersection of communities led by diverse, fearless change agents.

The next generation of founding teams will be diverse across geography, gender, race, and professional experience. The best of these teams will go on to build companies that are intersectional in nature and will demand that their investors be equivalently so. Collide Capital represents that intersection.

Collide Capital invests in early stage companies from pre-seed to Series A, with a focus on fintech, supply chain redesign, and the future of work.

Fulfilling Alphabet’s $100 Million Commitment To Black-Led VCs–and Economic Opportunity For All

For too long, Black startup founders and Black investors have been locked out of the funding necessary to succeed. In 2020, Black founders raised less than 1% of all venture capital dollars invested in the U.S. This disparity has not only hindered innovation, but also limited opportunities for economic opportunity, wealth generation and upward mobility. That’s why we made a series of commitments in 2020 to improve access to capital for Black founders and funders.

The Equity Alliance Closes an Oversubscribed $28 Million Fund I to Invest in VC Firms and Early-Stage Ventures Backed by People of Color and Women

The Equity Alliance, a New York City-based investment fund run by CEO Claude Grunitzky, today announced the close of Fund I, an oversubscribed $28 million fund focused on diverse, emerging VC firms and early-stage ventures. Original investors Dick Parsons, Ronald S. Lauder, Eric Zinterhofer, Scott Kapnick, Michael Novogratz, and Lerer Hippeau are joined by a group of limited partners including Schusterman Family Investments, Bank of America, Ford Foundation, LionTree, Women Moving Millions co-founder Jacki Zehner, and Celo co-founder Rene Reinsberg.

The First Close, Collide Capital

Brian Hollins, founder and general partner of Collide Capital, a seed-stage enterprise and consumer services fund, is not your typical venture capitalist. A current student at Harvard Business School, Brian has proven that sometimes the most impactful path into venture capital is an atypical one. While Collide Capital is Brian’s first fund, it isn’t the first organization he’s founded: he is a founding board member for BLCK VC, an organization created to support Black founders, as well as the founder and CEO of Takeoff Institute, a nonprofit supporting Black undergraduates as they transition from college to their careers.
